Download 8K Video and BGM

Use Bilibili 8K video and YouTube-to-BGM as two examples for connector cookies, download, and transcode workflows.

Introduction

If you need high-spec video assets, or want to turn online video directly into usable BGM, this page is a good starting point. It uses Bilibili 8K video and YouTube BGM as two examples to show how connector sign-in, cookies, download, and transcode work in practice.

What to confirm before you start

  • If onboarding is not complete yet, first finish the Welcome setup described in Install, First Launch & Updates.
  • If you need to download Bilibili quality levels that depend on account permissions, sign in to Bilibili first under Preferences -> Integration -> Connectors.
  • If you want to turn a YouTube video directly into BGM, choose a suitable built-in transcode option during download.

Download Modes

  • Quick Download: use this when you want to start immediately. For downloading the highest quality available for the current video, or turning a video directly into BGM, Quick Download is usually enough.
  • Custom Download: use this when you need exact control over format, subtitle track, or other output details. In Custom Download, you first click Parse to request video information, then choose the exact items from the returned result. This usually takes more time.

Download Bilibili 8K video

On Bilibili, the video formats and quality levels available for download depend on the permissions of the signed-in account. If the target video provides 8K or another permission-dependent format, first sign in under Preferences -> Integration -> Connectors with a Bilibili account that can view that quality, then return to the download flow.

Use this flow:

  1. Open Preferences -> Integration -> Connectors, find Bilibili, and complete sign-in.
  2. Return to the Resource Library, create a download job, and paste the target video URL.
  3. If the current source supports connector cookies, a cookies switch appears after the URL field. Turn on Use connector cookies for parsing and download.
  4. If your goal is to download the highest quality supported by the current video and the current account permissions, Quick Download is usually enough. Keep Quality on Best Quality and start the job directly. If the video provides 8K and the current account has permission to view it, quick download will take that level directly.
  5. If you need to inspect exact formats, switch to Custom Download, click Parse, then choose the required item from the returned format list before starting the download.

If 8K or the expected format does not appear in parsing results, check these items first:

  • whether the current video actually provides that format
  • whether the signed-in account has permission to view that format

YouTube BGM

If you want to turn a YouTube video directly into usable BGM, you can enable transcode during download. Both Quick Download and Custom Download support transcode, so you do not need to download the video first and then move to another tool.

Use this flow:

  1. Create a new download job in the Resource Library and paste the YouTube URL.
  2. In most cases, Quick Download is enough.
  3. If you only care about the final BGM result, switch Quality to Audio Only, then choose a built-in transcode option that fits the target output.
  4. After transcode is enabled, Do not keep source file is on by default. If you want to keep the original downloaded file, turn it off manually.
  5. Click Start and wait for download and transcode to finish.
  6. If you need exact format control, switch to Custom Download, click Parse, and continue from the returned result.

This keeps download and transcode in the same job. For cases where only the final BGM file matters, it reduces the amount of manual source-file cleanup.

Next Steps

After download finishes, the next step is usually one of these:
